How to Keep That Glow While Stuck at Home
While trying to balance our busy, everyday lives, it can be hard to make time for self care. With all the craziness going on right now, chances are you're stuck at home. Because of this, we've put together a guide to all of our favorite self care activities. From hair and face masks to reading a good book, we know some of easiest ways to pamper yourself and how to dress for the occasion. Get ready for some much need relaxation!
Get Cozy
Keeping a routine is an important part of staying productive and feeling like yourself. Part of a routine is getting dressed in the morning. Just because you're stuck at home, doesn't mean you have to sit around in your pj's! Choose some cute loungewear that'll keep you comfortable throughout your day. DIY Spa Day
We can't think of anything more relaxing than an in home spa day! Here are some of our favorite recipes and ideas for pampering your hair and skin.
DIY Hair Masks
For Dry Hair:
- 2 tablespoons of honey + 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
For Itchy or Flaky Scalp:
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar + 1 tablespoon of olive oil
For Oily Hair:
- 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar + 1 lemon
Mix ingredients well in a bowl. Wash your hair like normal, but skip the conditioner. Apply your chosen mask evenly to your scalp and comb it through your damp hair. Cover your hair with a towel or shower cap and let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse out with warm water.
DIY Honey Cinnamon Face Mask
What You'll Need
- Raw Organic Honey
- Ground Cinnamon
- Measuring Spoons
- Small Bowl
- Wash Cloth
Test this face mask on a small patch of your skin before fully applying to ensure that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients. Make sure no redness, itching, or irritation occurs.
Instructions
- Add 2 tablespoons of honey into the small bowl.
- Add 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and mix until combined.
- Tie you hair back and apply the mixture evenly to your skin with clean hands.
- Let sit for a few minutes, then rinse with warm water. Pat your face dry with the wash cloth.

Trying to relax in a cluttered space is not ideal, not to mention that it's hard to find time in our everyday lives to organize. Cleaning up your surrounding areas will help you to fully unwind and enjoy your time spent at home. I'm sure Netflix has become your best friend, but staring at your TV or phone screen all day long can get tiring. Try reading or downloading a new audio book. You're brain will thank you!
Journaling is also a great idea! Take some time to write down your thoughts and ideas. This will also give you an opportunity to go over goals you've made for yourself and to make some new ones! There's no better form of self care than to evaluate what is important to you and to make a plan to prioratize it!
